Escape Road City is the first installment in the series, marking the first time chase sequences were moved from highways to an open-world city. Compared to the original, it places greater emphasis on "terrain utilization," making it the most exploration- and strategy-focused entry in the series.

• The core chase mechanics remain the same: evade police cars, collect coins, and unlock vehicles.
• City Features: Enter alleys, parking lots, and even briefly walk on foot to use buildings as cover and shake off pursuers.
• Police car AI is smarter than in the original, adjusting its flanking routes based on the player's position.

• Parking lots are excellent escape spots where you can circle around to lose the police cars' sight.
• Alleys are ideal for evading helicopters and avoiding being locked onto from the air.
• Prioritize unlocking vehicles with fast acceleration to quickly pull away on straight city streets.
